Dear Poets,
We are not yet open for submissions.
Last year, Autumnalis had a vision for this website; she wanted to collaborate with poets from around the world to create a free ezine with real value. She and I talked about how to ensure we got the best writers to publish with us, and how we never wanted to have fees for submissions. Despite a recent bout of illness, she had carefully planned her future to be safe and successful, her partner Raphael was newly qualified and working full time in his chosen field, and they were about to move to a new apartment together. On August 1st we had published Issue One, and had almost finished working on Issue Two. We planned to put out a call for submissions for Issue Three within a few weeks.
Then Autumnalis and Raphael were attacked. What happened is not my story to tell, but they lost everything, except each other and their poetry. Tenacious Poets lost its editor.
Raphael and Autumnalis are currently staying in a hostel, they have one phone between them, and each has only one set of clothes. They have no money, unless friends send donations through paypal or gofundme. When money comes in, it pays for the hostel, then for food. They never have more than a couple of nights paid for in advance, and often do not have enough to eat.
Autumnalis is heavily pregnant and too sick to write. Raphael is looking for work close to the hostel as he has no means of transport.
Raphael and Autumnalis are Tenacious Poets. They will recover from this, and when they do we will need your submissions. Until then I intend to use this website to publish their writing.
